Celebrating the music of the movies
↳ Challenge
RG Live is a promoter arm of Sony Music, which runs music-themed events from Jo Whiley’s 90s Anthems to Ministry of Sound at the Royal Albert Hall. Its flagship series is ‘Music of the Movies’ which features music from beloved films brought to life by a full symphony orchestra and stunning choir. Aside from sharing a name, these events were typically treated as individual, with new posters and event assets created for each iteration. RG Live wanted the events to feel linked and asked us to create a brand identity for the series.

This job had several interesting elements to it. Firstly, RG Live didn’t have the rights to any imagery or assets from these films, so our work had to evoke these films without using the iconic images associated with them. Secondly, with IPs including The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones there was a strict hierarchy about how brands could appear on event assets. We created a brand identity built on the idea of ‘moments that move you,’ with designs using the colour and visual style of the movies featured.
